Applied Energy Group (AEG) is seeking a Program Manager to join the growing DSM Implementation and Contract Administration team. The position will perform DSM project and program management activities for one or more utility clients under moderate supervision of the area manager with an emphasis on residential and commercial trade ally recruitment and management. The scope of work for these clients includes outreach, education and quality management of trade allies supporting program installation and services work across all sectors. The work scopes may also involve sub-contract deliverables from other program and platform implementors. The focus will be on direct project management of implementation tasks, marketing, trade ally relationship development & management and overall program management of all other AEG and non-AEG subcontractor areas of scope. Project management activities will be heavy through startup phases and shifting to operational management through metrics development, tracking & reporting, status reporting, relationship management and continuous improvement. This position will require occasional travel for trade ally events, recruitment initiatives, and client meetings.
Responsibilities:
Developing, tracking, and managing trade ally networks for both residential and commercial energy efficiency programs;
Initiating quality control plans and monitoring trade ally performance;
Subcontractor management including invoice receipt and review from sub-contractors and consolidation with AEG invoices for presentment to the utility client. Ensure matrixed AEG teams and non-AEG subcontractors are tracking spend against budget and projections with direct responsibility for the same for implementation and overall contract management teams;
Projected overages will require escalation with the client in coordination with AEG portfolio management;
Position will not have direct personnel management responsibilities initially but may grow into these roles over time. Regardless of direct or indirect management responsibilities, position is required to have experience identifying skill and workload coverage risks and gaps, gauging and growing staff capabilities, negotiating resource availability from within the AEG organization;
Position will be required to communicate with client contacts at multiple levels of the organization. This will involve both formal meetings and informal email and phone contact;
The position will be required to maintain high customer satisfaction at all levels of the customer organization;
Position will also focus on the identification and solutions for new project opportunities for existing clients including involvement in the RFP and proposal process. This should also include exploration cross selling opportunities for existing clients in all business units;
Position will be required to coach and mentor mid-level team members including program coordinators and processing staff;
Travel is required; and
Other perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business or a related field is preferred.
5-7 years of industry experience.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience Managing complex projects ideally in DSM Programming / Energy Efficiency.
Trade ally and/or subcontractor management experience in the DSM space.
Strong program/project management and customer service experience.
Ability to provide direction to trade allies and subcontractors to successfully execute project tasks, control scope, budget and schedule.
Experience projecting and tracking budgets, developing status reporting, managing issues to resolution, and forecasting impacts on critical and non-critical paths is required.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to develop strong subject matter expertise to recommend and implement cost effective solutions.
Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
Experience with Microsoft Project, Office Suite, and PowerPoint is required.
Experience managing external vendors/parties is preferred.
Much of the matrixed delivery will involve direct or indirect delivery of technology components, therefore experience in technology project management is a plus.
