Summary:

Responsible for the general supervision of the Pilot group to ensure the highest level of safety and standardization are maintained. He will identify deficiencies and develop strategies to ensure that Pilots operate in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the satisfactory performance of the assigned staff members including line pilots, aviation training department, interns and administrative assistants
  • Responsible to have a full understanding and working knowledge of all regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, REVA’s manuals, the Operations Specifications, all appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements, FARs, FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars, Inspector’s Guidance (8900.1), and Airbus’ manufacturer’s recommendations. Assists in formulating the planning of future flights, routes, contracts, operations and new equipment
  • Maintains availability and serves on a normal full-time basis, unless restricted by the rest requirement of FAR 135;
  • Maintains responsibility with the Sr. Manager of Pilot Training to develop, recommend, and maintain SOPs;

  • Is responsible for selection of flight personnel for advancement and upgrading IAW Company policy and FAA requirements;
  • Supervises, assists, and enhances standardization of the pilot group in coordination with the Director of Flight Training and Standards.
  • Remains qualified on at least one type of Company aircraft, and flies when directed by the Company.
  • In the absence of the Chief Pilot, he will delegate the above functions to the Chief Pilot-Standards or the Director of flight Training and Standards as required, but he retains ultimate responsibility.
  • Ensures that the Director of Flight Operations Management is informed, without delay, of any deficiencies involving Flight Crew conduct

  • Supports all initiatives and current policies and procedures associated with Flight Operations management
  • Takes an active role in promoting positive attitudes toward compliance and safety
  • Provides counseling and discipline, as necessary
  • Ensures Pilot appearance, attendance and personal conduct are in compliance with REVA’s policies, culture and core values
  • Responsible to serve as a member of the Flight Standards Board.

  • Authority to take action as deemed necessary to resolve any problems or situations that may compromise safety or compliance.
  • Ensures Pilot compliance with FAA physical examination and certificate requirements
  • Develop and maintain internal process for the distribution and action of applicable Flight Crew reports
  • Reviews and resolves Flight Operations issues arising from operational irregularities
  • Record and monitor Pilot deviations including review for systemic issues that need to be addressed.

  • Maintain a consistent standard for performance management including mentoring and discipline within the Pilot group
  • Responsible for the recruitment and hiring of the Pilot workforce
  • Participate in cross-departmental working groups
  • Completes all other duties assigned by the Director of Flight Operations Management


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3500+ hours of total pilot time in fixed wing aircraft.
  • 1500+ hours Turbine PIC or multi-engine aircraft preferred (150 hours flown within the last 12 months).
  • Air carrier flight experience in turbojet aircraft or two person crew.
  • Part 135 or Flight Instructor experience.
  • Learjet 35 or similar aircraft experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute complex procedures.
  • Must possess sound analytical skills, and possess high tolerance for stress.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in team environment.
  • Must be able to work under tight time constraints and deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, effective, and timely communications to peers and superiors.
  • Ability to interact successfully with various departments and airport personnel.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Reside or relocate within 45 minutes of base airport, 30 minutes preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICTIONS, & BADGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor degree in aviation management preferred.
  • Commercial, Instrument, MEL. Current Airline Transport Pilot written required. Rating preferred.
  • Current First Class FAA Medical Certificate required.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining Airport Access Badges as required.
  • Applicants must be able to prove U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must be able to travel freely and without restrictions inside/outside the United States. Must be able to meet ICAO requirements, including the age 65 restriction.
  • Applicants must be at least 23 years of age.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work in a high stress environment while remaining calm composure.
  • Lift 75+ lbs.
