Location: BROOKLYN HEIGHTS Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: M-F, 8-5 The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers. Summary: The Chief Learning Officer (CLO) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee learning and development within MetroHealth System. Creates and implements learning and development strategies for MetroHealth that align with the overall business strategy. Designs and executes on training and development programs that align with MetroHealth’s People First Culture. Oversees performance management programs inclusive of the full lifecycle of performance management. Works collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure that all employees have the ability to learn and grow professionally. Fosters a culture of continuous learning, talent development, and driving organizational growth through effective learning and performance strategies. Acts as the primary liaison for MetroHealth to identify learning needs and leads the sourcing/development of learning solutions. Serves as an articulate spokesperson for the value of robust educational programming at the System, in the community, and online. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Human Resources Learning & Development and/or Talent Management from an accredited university. 8-10 years in training and development with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and leading successful learning and development strategies and programs. Experience in design thinking and leading areas such as curriculum development instructional design, planning, facilitation, learning policy and implementing efficient learning solutions. In-depth understanding of adult learning principles and current learning theories and their application to training design. Innovative problem-solving skills to address training challenges and adapt strategies required. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and leading high performing teams. Inclusive leader that embraces a creative, innovative approach to developing employees with a solid understanding of how to develop for a diverse employee base. Demonstrated understanding of the strategic business needs of a hospital system that learning can support including needs of patients, the community, and the broader marketplace. Demonstrated passion for creating and advancing innovative learning solutions with a track record of success in developing, managing and delivering enterprise-wide training initiatives. Possesses a collaborative mindset and excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with an ability to effectively manage and prioritize complex projects, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business, Education, Human Resources Learning & Development and/or Talent Management from an accredited university. Prior executive experience Leadership experience in teaching and/or public hospital. Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use computer. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job-related documents.
