Job Description Job Description The Vice President, Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center provides direct operational and financial leadership, and accountability for the daily execution of inpatient and outpatient clinical activities that ensure the highest level of clinical care service for patients and their families. Job Responsibilities Establish, coordinate, and maintain an organizational structure which promotes multi-disciplinary collaborative practices, participatory involvement, innovation, fiscal accountability, strategic planning and development, outcome-focused goal setting, adequate and effective resource allocation, community involvement, and customer service. Partner with the physician chief to direct the overall clinical management of the service line by developing and implementing clinical programs identified in strategic and business plans, integrating, and coordinating care delivery throughout the service line, and assessing the feasibility of new programs, products, and services. Manage the overall financial performance of the service line by assisting with the budget development and financial analysis. Conduct fundraising activities on behalf of the service line and in partnership with Children's Foundation. Monitor and track donor dollars to ensure proper utilization. Ensure appropriate information systems and databases are available to support service line operations. Make recommendations for space and other resources needed by the service line, makes staff recommendations to support clinical functions. Ensure the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services and create and maintain effective physician relationships. Serve as key contact point for clinical issues related to the service line by regularly interacting and communicating with clinical leadership, physician clinical operations, human resources, system quality improvement, senior leadership at Children's, and other service lines and department leaders. Monitor and report critical clinical success factors for the service line, including financial indicators, customer satisfaction, quality, and compliance with budgetary and fiscal goals. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs to promote the recruitment, retention, professional development, and continuing education of clinical staff in the service line. Accountable for driving effective and safe admission, transfer, and discharge process for division and hospital, ensuring efficient patient flow and outcomes through collaboration with physicians, other departments, system leadership, and staff. Remove barriers and identifies patterns for improvement. Candidate Qualifications We are seeking candidates with the following attributes: Experience At least five years of experience as nurse executive or senior leader of clinical operations in a complex healthcare organization. Experience developing a strategic clinical care plan, and the ability to implement the plan within the Center. Experience working in a pediatric healthcare environment is preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business, health administration, finance, industrial engineering, or related health care field is required. Master's degree in health administration or business administration is preferred. Licensure Current licensure in the state of Georgia as a registered nurse is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Leadership presence and ability to lead necessary changes. Ability to connect with patients, employees and physicians at all levels. Ability to build and maintain partnerships between clinical and non-clinical stakeholders. Ability to align Center strategy and performance with system strategy and targets. Must have outstanding business and financial acumen. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding care while adhering to established financial parameters. Outstanding analytical ability is required. Able to quickly, yet thoroughly, determine needs, cost/benefits, risks, and mitigations when presented with an issue or system generated solution.
