THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION, 100% ON SITE. Located in Delray Beach, Florida, our offices are very close to I-95, and commutable from Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach Gardens.

The Software Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including other talented software developers, hardware engineers, and product management to deliver integrated solutions for marine LED lighting. This role involves developing and maintaining software projects that interact with embedded devices, utilizing technologies like HTML/CSS/JavaScript, mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms, and C/C++ firmware on microcontrollers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Add features and fix issues in existing products.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by customers or found in quality testing.
• Design and develop intuitive user interfaces (UI) that communicate with hardware systems. Optimize them for performance and user experience across various devices and platforms.
• Build and deploy for the browser, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate software solutions with hardware components.
• Develop and document APIs to allow other systems to communicate with our devices.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and maintenance.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of experience
• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and JavaScript.
• Experience with Front-End/UI development and user-centric design principles.
• Mobile app development for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Highly proficient with embedded firmware development on resource constrained targets.
• Experience with hardware-software integration, including communication protocols.
• Familiarity with common communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, IP, etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Comfortable using Git version control within a team.
• Produces high-quality code that is readable, maintainable, adheres to best-practices, and documented.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comfortable using command-line tools and writing scripts for building and testing software.
• CI/CD for build and test integration and deployment.
• Experience with writing tests for UI integration/E2E testing (i.e. Cypress).
• Experience with writing software unit tests.
• Expertise in working with several communication protocols such as CAN bus, WIFI, and Bluetooth LE.
