Position Summary The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, FP&A Analyst, provides unbiased, reliable, and consistent analysis to support senior management in their decisions on allocating capital and resources at Redwood Trust.
Responsibilities & Duties - Build quarterly Board Decks, ad hoc presentations, and partner on strategic projects
- Maintain the company's operating model, partner across the organization to provide forward-looking analysis to support business decisions and analyze capital allocation decisions
- Oversee and review in-depth analysis, modeling, monthly/quarterly/annual forecasting and reporting of financial and business performance to support company-wide financial and operational goals, initiatives and objectives
- Collaborate effectively with FP&A team and other internal partners to drive deliverables
- Perform ad-hoc/deep-dive analysis in support of management decision making
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close and reporting responsibilities
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
Required Experience, Skills, & Competencies - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
- 3 - 5 years of industry experience with budgeting / planning, financial modeling, and decision analytics (e.g. FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity)
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications; advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and demonstrate knowledge of finance concepts and processes.
- Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis
- Ability to source and work with large amounts of data from different data sources
- Understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes
- Experience with Anaplan, or similar cloud-based ERP system preferred
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and recommend solutions
- Ability to apply high-level analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills to different financial scenarios and make recommendations on outcomes
- Ability to work independently and within a team in both tactical and strategic capacities
- Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented, self-starter who can effectively lead a team and work closely with senior leaders
- Solid analytical and modeling skills
A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $90 - $115K annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
