Job Title: Pipe Skilled Worker - Welder/Fitter/Plumber

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Construction Supervisor/Project Manager

Pay rates: $25-$35.00 per hour Salary: $52,000 to $72,000k

Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Pipe Skilled Worker with expertise in welding, fitting, and plumbing to join our factory construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on large-scale industrial construction projects and will be responsible for performing high-quality pipe fitting, welding, and plumbing tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Pipe Work:

• Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems according to mechanical drawings
  (water, steam, gas, compressed air, etc.)

• Measure, cut, and fit pipes and components, including elbows, valves, and flanges, ensuring precise alignment and proper installation

• Connect equipment and machinery to piping systems

• Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and defects

Welding:

• Perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) on pipes and tubes

• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and others

• Inspect welds for defects and ensure that they meet industry standards and project requirements

• Pressure test welded piping to ensure integrity and safety of the system

Fitting:

• Measure, cut, and fit pipes, tubes, and structural components

• Assemble and install equipment and machinery

• Ensure proper alignment and fit-up of components

Plumbing:

• Install and repair plumbing systems, including water, sanitation, and industrial processes

• Connect equipment and machinery to plumbing systems

• Trouble-shoot plumbing issues and perform repairs

• Test plumbing systems to detect and fix any issues, including leaks or blockages

General:

• Follow safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, etc.)

• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

Education :

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in pipefitting, welding, and plumbing

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in pipefitting, welding, and plumbing in industrial or factory construction sites

• Experience with various metals (steel, stainless steel, Copper, etc.)

Skills:

• Proficiency in welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW) and experience with different types of pipe materials

• Strong knowledge of piping systems and fitting methods, including the installation of valves, flanges, elbows, and tees

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Physical stamina to work in demanding environments

• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

• Valid certification in welding (AWS, ASME, etc.) and plumbing (e.g., OSHA 30)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 60 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions

• Must be able to work in tight spaces and at heights

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions typical of a construction site

Preferred Qualifications:

• NCCER certification in pipefitting

• Experience with B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes

• Familiarity with large-scale industrial construction projects
