This role will ideally be based out of Phoenix, Arizona The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with Regional, National and International key opinion leaders and cultivating relationships with future leaders. Across core specialties, including plastic surgery, facial plastics, dermatology, and a variety of aesthetic injectors, the MSL will facilitate broad dissemination of Merz scientific information supporting the injectables and device business, ensuring fair and balanced discourse across all interactions and presentations. The MSL will attend and report on medical congresses, engage in speaker training, support investigator initiated trials, aid in publication review and development, and assist in creating scientific messaging and materials for the Medical Affairs team. Responsibilities: Drive regional, national, and international Key Opinion Leader identification and development. Maintain a high level of clinical knowledge around the Merz Aesthetic portfolio and market competitors, increasing credibility and strong educational discourse. Respond to and document unsolicited requests from health care providers for medical information on company products and pipeline. Develop and implement effective educational messaging plans to increase scientific awareness and advocacy of Merz Aesthetics products among health care providers in the field. Support grants, Investigator Initiated Trials, advocacy/speaking opportunities, and educational requests. Provide competitive intelligence to Merz internal stakeholders. Manage calendar of events for congresses, planning key opinion leader/Merz Aesthetics activities and engagements, and lead appropriate Senior Level management/Key Opinion Leader interactions. Educate Key Opinion Leader congress faculty on Merz Aesthetics portfolio science and identify educational opportunities. Observe and report relevant sessions at medical meetings. Act as a Merz Aesthetics product lead expert to support clinical and scientific commercial needs, including internal training when requested. Facilitate company-sponsored investigator initiated trials (IITs) including milestones, patient recruitment and enrollment, and publication planning. Aid with the execution of Medical Affairs advisory boards in support of the Aesthetic portfolio. Requirements: An advanced degree (PharmD, PhD or MD). Strong clinical knowledge in relevant aesthetic areas. Business acumen and strong working knowledge of the medical device/pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance environment.
