Sonoran National Insurance Group, A Higginbotham partner has an immediate opening for a Jr. Underwriter for our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Position Summary: The Junior Underwriter will underwrite new and renewal risks in our program division and provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to our customers. This person should seek to grow and develop his/her talents and insurance knowledge to the highest level possible.


Essential Tasks:

• Underwrites all submitted business in accordance with carrier and agency standards.
• Review, rate & issue proposal for Professional Liability New and Renewal Applications
• Maintains with near 100% accuracy underwriting policy files,
• Provide excellent customer service to clients
• Process policy changes
• Assist Senior Underwriter and back up colleagues.
• Maintain client activity in agency management systems
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintain a professional work ethic

Experience and Education:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of insurance experience required
• P&C license preferred
• Commitment to continuing learning

Physical Requirements:

• Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens.
• Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person.
• Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
• Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions.
