Scheck Hillel Community School, a large Orthodox Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida is currently accepting resumes for an experienced full time Judaic Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Judaic Studies Teacher to join our educational team. In this role, the Judaic Studies Teacher will have the opportunity to educate students about Jewish history, Jewish text, culture, and religious practices, fostering a deep connection to their heritage. The Judaic Studies Teacher will create engaging lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, open discussion, and a lifelong love of learning. We are looking for an individual who is knowledgeable in Judaic texts, is a role model of an Orthodox observant Jewish life, and teachings and also skilled in creating an inclusive and vibrant classroom environment that celebrates learning and curiosity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Judaic Studies Teacher will create an engaging and dynamic learning environment by preparing innovative course objectives and outlines that align with curriculum guidelines. The Judaic Studies Teacher's passion for teaching will shine as they deliver lectures, demonstrate concepts, and leverage technology and teaching aids to captivate our students.
  • The Judaic Studies Teacher will play a vital role in assessing student progress by preparing, administering, and grading assessments, providing valuable feedback to guide their learning journey. The Judaic Studies Teacher will encourage students to express their ideas confidently and develop their skills.
  • In the classroom, the Judaic Studies Teacher will foster a positive atmosphere, maintaining order while being a trusted mentor for students facing academic or personal challenges. Open communication with parents will ensure that they stay informed about their child's growth and achievements, creating a supportive partnership in their education.
  • Take responsibility for the safety, security, and cleanliness of the classroom environment, reinforcing a culture of respect and responsibility among the students. Beyond the classroom, supervise students during exciting school functions like field trips, shabbatonim, and assemblies, creating lasting memories together.
  • Participate in all parent-teacher conferences, back-to-school nights, professional development, and faculty meetings, enhancing collaboration within the school community. Additionally, take on enriching activities such as leading Tefila, overseeing a club, and managing lunch/bagel breaks.
  • Demonstrate the requisite commitment to fulfilling the School's mission and Philosophy, which includes, providing an Orthodox religious education consistent with fundamental beliefs of Judaism and teaching children to embrace Jewish heritage.
  • Be a role model of Orthodox observance and Jewish life in their personal practice.
Qualifications:
  • Passion for educating teens.
  • Excellent classroom management, differentiated instruction skills, and organization skills.
  • As a collaborative working environment, must be a team player and be proficient with instructional technology.
  • Flexibility and ability to work within an encouraging fast-paced environment where developing positive community relationships are critical.
  • Experience teaching Judaic Studies in an Orthodox environment, advanced degree and/or Orthodox Rabbinic Ordination is preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors, Rabbinic ordination, or seminary degree or equivalent required
