JOB SCOPE: responsible for overseeing and implementing quality standards within a company, ensuring that all products and services meet established specifications by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement to maintain consistent quality throughout the manufacturing or service delivery cycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality System Implementation:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) aligned with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control procedures across all production stages

Quality Monitoring and Inspection:

  • Conduct regular quality inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to identify trends and potential quality issues.
  • Monitor production processes to identify deviations from specifications and initiate corrective actions

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze quality data to identify root causes of quality issues.
  • Generate detailed quality reports for management review, including trends and improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible paperwork. Facilitate/administrate the system's document control programs (Qualtrax).

Non-Conformance Management:

  • Investigate non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and documentation
  • Work closely with other members of the management team promptly investigating, communicating, and correcting concerns

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement within production processes.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and projects to optimize production efficiency and quality

Customer Focus:

  • Collaborate with customer service to address quality concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer feedback to identify areas for quality improvement
  • Actively lead/participate in all regulatory, third party, and customer audits, inspections, and corrective action response.
  • Conduct Regulatory Compliance including documentation and inspections (Export: USDA).

Team Management :

  • Manage and lead a team of quality personnel, including assigning tasks, providing training, setting clear goals and expectations, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Address any personnel issues and foster a positive work environment with a cohesive team atmosphere--not an "us versus them" mentality. Promote ongoing growth and development through coaching, encouragement and accountability.
  • Monitor attendance and navigate disciplinary matters in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Perform all other additional duties and functions as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXEMPTION STATUS :

Direct Reports: 20-25

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
