Position Type: Recreation- Sport/Rec- Field Supervisor Date Posted: 9/6/2024 Location: Various locations The Winnetka Park District is hiring Field and Gym Supervisors to be onsite at ball fields and/or gymnasiums where baseball, softball, soccer, basketball and other recreational athletic activities take place. Field and Gym Supervisors are responsible for setting up games, score keeping, and direct supervision of various ball fields and/or gymnasiums. This position is responsible for general clean-up after a sporting event and the secure storage of any Park District equipment and supplies. They will supervise participants and patrons during practices and games to ensure the fields or gymnasiums are in playing condition and Park District safety standards are met. The position has flexible hours with various shifts available. Position: Field and Gym Supervisor - part-time Pay: $15-$17/hour starting pay, depending on experience Hours: Flexible schedule with weekday, weeknights and weekend shifts available Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. The individuals we seek will have strong communications skills, be responsible, polite, dependable and punctual. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. This position requires some knowledge of sports. Duties: Arrive at game site one hour before game time, wearing Winnetka Park District shirt and name tag if name tag has been provided to you. Check ball field conditions to ensure they are playable. If acting as a Gym Supervisor, check gymnasium to ensure that equipment is set up as needed for the event and that the gymnasium is in order. Be helpful and visible to parents, coaches and spectators at all times. Answer questions and address concerns in a professional and helpful manner. At the end of each game, be sure all equipment and supplies are stored in the appropriate area. If an injury occurs, complete the appropriate accident report per the District's accident reporting guidelines as outlined in the Safety Manual. Accident reports must be completed and submitted to the Recreation Manager. For accidents deemed serious, contact the Recreation Manager immediately. If requested to do so, acts as the scorekeeper.
