Acute Care Emergency Room Technologist – ER Tech

POSITION TYPE: Allied Health Professional

SPECIALTY UNIT: Emergency Room Technologist – ER Tech

LOCATION: White Plains, NY

SHIFT: Day, Evening, and Nights Shifts Available

JOB TYPE: Full-Time; Part-time, and Per Diem Permanent

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced ER Technologist to work in our busy emergency room where they will assist our doctors and nurses with treating patients. As the emergency room technologist, you will collect samples for lab analysis, gather patient information, monitor EKGs and heart rhythm, treat wounds and assist our doctors and nurses during procedures. Our ER Technologist will be conducting assessments and the basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and/or physician.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring blood pressure, pulse, and temperature of patients.
• Collecting blood, stool, urine, and other samples from patients.
• Fitting patients for crutches and casts.
• Handing doctors and nurses medical supplies during procedures.
• Transporting patients.
• Dressing wounds.
• Beginning IV lines.
• Communicating with patients and families.
• Taking a patient’s medical history and information.
• Assisting patients during hospital discharge.
• Assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, adequately stocked and safe patient environment.
• Follows all hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
• Current certification of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program required. Must maintain certification.
• One (1) year of patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
• Experience with Blood draw and ekg
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within six (6) months of hire.
