About the Role:

As a Code Enforcement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community by enforcing local government ordinances related to public safety and emergency management. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and issuing citations to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Your work will directly impact the quality of life for residents and businesses in the area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in code enforcement, law enforcement, or related field.
  • Knowledge of local government policies and regulations related to public safety and emergency management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Code Enforcement Officer.
  • Experience working in a local government agency.
  • Knowledge of ordinances and regulations specific to the Jonesboro area.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of properties and businesses to ensure compliance with local ordinances and regulations.
  • Investigate complaints related to public safety and emergency management.
  • Issue citations and notices of violation as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections and enforcement actions.
