Job Title: Clinical Medical Assistant
Location: Kona Integrative Health, Big Island, Hawaii
Position: Part-time with the opportunity to transition to full-time
Pay: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience

Kona Integrative Health, a leader in personalized and integrative healthcare on the Big Island, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Medical Assistant to join our team. This role will provide essential support to the Medical Director in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment focused on optimizing health and well-being.

Position Overview
The Clinical Medical Assistant will directly support the Medical Director during patient visits, taking notes, charting, handling patient care, and ensuring smooth communication. This is a part-time position with the opportunity to transition to full-time.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient appointments.
  • Assist the Medical Director during patient visits by taking notes, charting, and providing clinical support.
  • Administer basic medical tasks such as taking vitals, preparing lab orders, and documenting patient history.
  • Assist with peptide preparation and the drawing up of peptide packs for patients.
  • Restock medical supplies and maintain inventory.

Patient Care

  • Welcome patients and provide a positive, professional experience from check-in to check-out.
  • Educate patients about procedures, treatments, and wellness plans as directed by the Medical Director.
  • Address patient concerns or questions, escalating complex issues to the Medical Director as needed.
  • Collect payments and provide payment reminders to patients as needed.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the clinic’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Schedule appointments, follow up with patients regarding treatment plans, and confirm upcoming appointments.
  • Assist in preparing reports, documenting procedures, and managing treatment consent forms.
  • File, fax, and perform data entry to support smooth office operations.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between the Medical Director and other healthcare professionals within the clinic.
  • Communicate patient information effectively to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in clinic meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all clinic protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization procedures.

Other Duties

  • Support clinic events, educational initiatives, and promotional activities as needed.
  • Perform additional administrative or clinical tasks as assigned by the Medical Director.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with technology, including electronic health records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team-oriented, patient-focused approach with a commitment to integrative care.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to handle medical instruments and equipment.
