Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Retail Center General Manager to lead one of our Oklahoma City locations. This role requires a dynamic and experienced individual with at least three (3) currently consecutive years of retail management experience to oversee all aspects of store operations, including sales, customer service, team management, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Will grow into becoming an expert in services, products, and value options to advise customers by providing accurate information, including but not limited to receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating printers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, point-of-sale devices, and other equipment the store is supplied
- The store manager is its key leader and is responsible for the day-to-day operations and success of the retail location
- Will ensure efficiency and profitability and that sales and financial goals are met each month
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
- The candidate will act as a key holder (open and close the store), manage productivity and labor hours, and ensure the store’s team delivers World Class customer service to all
- The store manager will spend approximately 80%+ of their time in front-end operations and leading the team to meet store goals, including training and development where opportunities are identified
- The remainder of the time will be spent coordinating with the Leadership team in hiring, managing personnel concerns, on-boarding, and off-boarding; managing cost and expense control, ordering supplies; and coordinating facilities maintenance and improvements as identified, and other tasks and duties as assigned by leadership
- Develop and implement a staff schedule to meet business needs
- They must be available to work more than 40 hours and flexible days as needed to support store operations, weekends and holidays as needed
- Delivers outstanding customer service to all customers and telephone inquiries
- Continuously practicing good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
- Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions
- Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends
- Operates all equipment, software, and devices expertly and is willing to teach others
- Perform other duties as assigned to help with store operations
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Qualifications:
- The ideal Team Member and Manager has at least 3 years of experience as a retail center manager, strong computer skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance
- This position requires a high level of reliability and punctuality
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and exceeding performance metrics
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in retail management software and POS systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds
- Is a fast learner who is eager to learn and grow in our company
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math
- Can type a minimum of 45 wpm
Compensation:
- $18.00 per hour
- Monthly bonus if specific sales and product goals are met
